National Security Strategy – Potential, Impact and Democratic Process

This panel discusses the prospects of national security strategies for shaping foreign and military policies and contributing to building new security frameworks. 

Special attention will be payed to the ways executive strategies are drafted in the United

States and Germany, and how governments can foster parliamentarians’ participation in the process. Panelists will e.g., discuss how policymakers can pursue long-term strategic goals while depending on elected representatives’ implementation of strategic decisions.
