The Innovation Lounge on Saturday, October 29 serves as the Conference’s interactive platform to highlight innovation by inviting start-ups, companies, social enterprises, and others working on developing unique solutions to pressing problems on both sides of the Atlantic. In the Innovation Lounge, conference participants will be able to break out of traditional conference formats and discover innovative ideas and solutions, engage in conversation with one another, and enjoy 15 minute Lightning Talks during the day.

BEETHOVEN // OPUS 360 is a VR Rap Game that brings Beethoven back to life and into our time. As soon as you put on your VR headset, you find yourself in a rap battle. In the centre: Beethoven who is challenged by an experienced battle rapper. Now it’s all up to you: You coach Beethoven to rap by navigating through a maze of possibilities, choosing interactively between rap parts, creating your own beat rap lines and much more. Your goal: Win over the crowd and crown yourself and beethoven as rap gods. Get ready to explore this unique world and meet Beethoven completely differently than you ever imagined… BEETHOVEN // OPUS 360 is a VR Rap Game that offers a totally new and interactive approach to the work and life of Ludwig van Beethoven. The non-profit educational project was developed by the young initiative agon e.V. to overcome the barriers of classical culture for young people in a fun way.

Orbit Health is a digital health startup committed to empowering and improving the quality of life of people living with chronic neurological diseases. Leveraging the power of AI and sensor technologies, Orbit develops digital health solutions that offer continuous, objective, and actionable insights to enable personalized care and enhance patient outcomes. Its first product, Neptune, offers continuous and objective Parkinson’s motor state and treatment response insights to enable the personalization of care and treatments, which is required regularly throughout the course of the disease, to help people with Parkinson’s attain optimal symptom control.

As a spin-off from the Research Center Jülich (Forschungszentrum Jülich) and the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf, Priavoid GmbH is a clinical stage drug development company. The company was founded in 2017 and is based in Düsseldorf, Germany. Core focus of Priavoid is to develop therapeutics against neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s Disease or Parkinson’s Disease. The company has developed a platform to discover, design and optimize orally available all-D-peptides with a novel, anti-oligomeric mode of action. Priavoid’s most advanced program is PRI-002 (Alzheimer’s disease). A Phase II Proof-of-Concept clinical trial is planned to start in 2023. Additional programs are at early preclinical development stages. They all apply the same concept as PRI-002 (mode of action, compound class) against various targets such as Alpha Synuclein or Tau. Priavoid closed two financing rounds in 2021. The company is also supported by the German Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation on PRI-002, which underscores the highly innovative, disruptive approach.
